TITLE: Extension Associate - Watershed Economist, Office of Local Government

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas

DESCRIPTION: This position supports the development and implementation and of watershed management plans and implementation of the state’s Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Plan. This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to technical assistance, research, outreach education, and project management.

TITLE: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Hiring 2 separate positions)

LOCATION: Department of Agricultural Economics, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Review of applications will begin May 15, 2014, and continue until the position is filled.

DESCRIPTION: The Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University seeks to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor Positions. The positions are each budgeted at 60% teaching and 40% research or 40% extension. There is flexibility in the allocation of effort based on departmental needs and candidate experience.

Responsibilities include: Develop and deliver internationally recognized teaching and research or extension programs. Teach three classes a year at the undergraduate and graduate levels; the specific appointments will be based on department needs and applicant’s areas of expertise. Advise and direct research by undergraduate and graduate students. Attract grant funds to support teaching and research/extension programs. Create an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality while working in a multi-cultural setting.

TITLE: DEPARTMENT HEAD

LOCATION: Department of Agricultural Economics, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas

DESCRIPTION: Kansas State University is seeking applications and nominations of entrepreneurial leaders for the position of Department Head, Department of Agricultural Economics. The Department of Agricultural Economics offers B.S. degree programs in agricultural economics and agribusiness, M.S. in agricultural economics, Master in Agribusiness (MAB), and Ph.D. in economics with a specialization in agricultural economics. The Department of Agricultural Economics has 81 employees of which 57 are on-campus personnel (32 full-time faculty, 20 unclassified professionals and 5 classified staff) and 24 are unclassified professionals employed in the Kansas Farm Management Association with locations throughout the state. As a department in a land-grant university, the department produces nationally and internationally recognized teaching, research, and extension educational programs. LOCATION: Hutchinson, Kansas
